Rungstrom Structural are specialists in the design of precast concrete structures, load-bearing structures and industrial buildings. We work for clients, main contractors and precast concrete suppliers — delivering drawings and calculations to the right quality, on time and on budget.
Our strength is the combination of a solid structural engineering background and hands-on experience from large, technically demanding industrial projects. We know the particular challenges that arise in industrial and production construction: foundations for heavy machinery that must never settle, floors that carry heavy internal transport, halls that need to be ready for equipment arriving on very short notice. That experience is embedded in our approach to every project.
We work primarily in Denmark, based in Aarhus, and we are accustomed to being part of a larger team — closely coordinated with architects, main contractors and other specialist contractors. We are flexible, solution-oriented and direct in our communication — and we deliver what we promise.

Concrete structures
We design precast concrete elements and shell structures for all types of construction — from a complete shell project with all drawings and calculations to precast element drawings tailored to a specific production facility and element sizes. We work in Tekla Structures, Revit and Strusoft, and we carry out technical reviews and optimisation of existing project materials where a fresh perspective can deliver significant savings or quality improvements.
Structural calculations
We produce structural calculations for all common building materials and building types — concrete, steel, timber and masonry. We handle specialist tasks in close dialogue with the client and have experience ranging from calculations for single-family homes and extensions to complex commercial and industrial buildings with demanding load and stiffness requirements. Our calculations are fully documented and ready for regulatory approval.
Industrial & production buildings
Industrial and production halls impose structural demands that a standard project does not address: foundations for heavy and vibrating machinery, loaded floors for internal transport with high axle loads, vibration isolation to protect precision equipment, and technical penetrations for cables, pipes and ventilation ducts in walls and decks. Here we draw directly on Rungstrom Engineering Solutions’ broad industrial experience — and we know what is required structurally to make the building capable of housing the plant that will stand in it.
Additional services
We handle a wide range of building-technical tasks: building permit applications and regulatory processing, including structural documentation for local authorities. Architectural tasks in connection with alterations and extensions, where function, appearance and structure must work in harmony. And client advisory services throughout the entire project — for clients who want a dedicated technical sparring partner from concept to handover.

A direct and efficient approach — from technical dialogue to approved documentation.
Initial dialogue & scope clarification
We start by understanding the scope of the task, the technical boundary conditions and the programme. A clear scope definition from the outset saves time and misunderstandings — and we are direct about what we can deliver and when.
Concept phase & preliminary calculations
For most projects we carry out preliminary concept calculations and schematic solutions that resolve the most important structural questions early — before resources have been spent on detailed design in the wrong direction. We involve the client in the structural choices that have consequences for cost and function.
Detailed design & drawing production
We produce the structural calculations and construction drawings required for the specific project — in Tekla, Revit or Strusoft depending on the task type and the client’s preferences. We ensure internal consistency and coordinate with other consultants.
Regulatory approval & building permit application
We prepare the structural documentation required for building permits and regulatory approval, and we assist with the application process itself. We know the requirements and ensure that the material is correct and complete from the first submission.
Construction follow-up
We are available during the construction phase to answer questions from the contractor, issue necessary revisions and approve construction-related changes. A good structural engineer is not finished when the drawings are sent — they remain available until the building is erected and handed over.

We combine a strong structural engineering background with direct experience from large industrial plant projects — giving us an insight into the structural demands that industrial buildings impose which very few structural engineers possess.

Rungstrom Structural is a division of Rungstrom Engineering Solutions specialising in structural engineering. We work primarily in Denmark, based in Aarhus, and we deliver for clients, main contractors and precast concrete suppliers.
